both england and us get one point towards advancing. If they have the same amount of points at the end of the group it is decided by head to head results then goal difference

Both sides get one point. Once it gets past the group stage, tie games will be settled by penalty shootouts.

Right now all teams are in groups which play for points in a table. Having a tie means they get one point in the table. The team who gains the most points from the three games they have to play will then advance to the next stage. After this stage any level score will have to go to extra-time and then penalty shoot-outs.

In the first round nothing happens, you will play 2 more games and whoever makes the most poitns advances to the second round…. in the second round, quaterfinals, semifinals and final if there’s a tie you go to extra times and if there’s still a tie you go to penalty kicks.

the teams are paired in Groups
they play between the groups and gain points, 0 for losing, 1 for a tie, 3 for a win
once they keep moving on with the groups, the bests ones move forward and the top two winners of the groups play each unless ones way ahead, i think they just keep going, and then Group A winner plays Group B winner and so on till its down to 2 teams
if THAT games a tie, they go to overtime, and if its still a tie, they move to penalty kicks which are, honestly, the most exciting part of soccer,
the whole games exciting if its two good teams, but theres nothing better than the anticipation of the shot!!!!
good question by the way : )

They receive one point each. Should they win a match, they receive 3 points. The two highest in each group go forward.Should all the group games be tied with the same score, that is in the same group all results be 0-0 for example, then each team would have 3 points and god knows how it is worked out from there.
